I just wanted to let everyone know that I found my brain. It was at home in my warm bed waiting for me. I am so happy I found it. Let's hope it stays put for a little while.
More to come later. Keep tuning in.

The not so good, the it only gets worse, and the I just plain need to start over!
Well, today was quite a day. I think my brain got left behind, back in my nice warm bed. All I could do today were things that were not quite right. Sometimes I wonder if I know what I am doing. I quickly say of course I do and move on.
So my day started with me being late to work. I think it might have been the fact that it was 24 degrees outside and my kitties were all snuggled up and warm with me. Or maybe I just had too much fun working on my gingerbread house last night. Either way I was late to work. Once I get to work I have tons to do for Wednesday and a full day of patients.
So once I begin, late of course, Things are not going as planned. I had filled some casts with plaster the night before and needed to get them ready to modify. As I am preparing one I realize that the pipe that is supposed to be down the center of the cast is actually sticking through the front making it had to fix. The next one I prepare is no better as it has a giant air bubble that had formed and created a huge hole in the plaster. No bueno, no bueno. The third and final cast is the worst of all. I begin to take the plaster wrap off and realized that as I approach the foot I can see that dreaded pipe again. But guess what, that is not the worst. As I continue down the cast, I soon realize that the foot is not even attached to the calf section of the cast. Very, Very, Very, bad situation. The worst part of it all is that I have to tell my mentor. See how or even if we can fix the situation.
Well, I tell my mentor and he says take it to Tom (one of our spectacular technicians) and he can fix it. That is why they invented super glue right?
Things get back on track and I am working on finishing out some of the other braces that are due tomorrow. One set has some joints that go in at the ankle. These are a little complicated to get in. I screw the holes that are need and one side on each brace I get the joint screwed in easily. The other side the holes don't match at all.
Once again with my head lowered I go back to my mentor and have to get some help. He makes things look so easy and shows me how to fix the problem. Did I mention he made it look easy? It was not so easy. He did one of four screws. I had to do the other three. I got one of them stuck and could not get it out even though I needed to. Eventually I get the other three in and am able to finish out my braces.
What a day. There were some good things. When I did stop to eat a bite of lunch (something that is rare for and orthotic resident) my coworkers brought me one of the most fabulous and delicious cheeseburger from Bricktown burgers. That made me smile a bit and gave me some renewed much needed energy.
To end my day. I went to my church and helped out with a Christmas program for the kiddos. I got to enjoy their smiling faces and messy mouths and faces as they decorated cookies. Perfect renewal to the not so great day.
With all that said, I learned some lessons today. I learned some new skills, and most definitely learned how not to do some things. I will now put all that behind me, because after all, Tomorrow is another day.
Until I write again.
